1st Camping Trip

This weekend we went on our first camping trip as a family. Evan did really well; he probably slept better then the rest of us. Our tent had its 1st exposure to rain and it held up well. We even got our 1st run in with a coral snake. Got to love Texas!

Thank you Aunt Kathryn & Uncle Nate for my 1st teddy bear. He helps me fall asleep at night.

At the rate I am growing I'll soon be tall enough to be a Celtics player.

Today Evan got a Jr. Firefighter sticker when the firemen came to check things out because our CO2 detector went off. Luckily it was a false alarm. But it sure was fun to seen the big fire truck and get a sticker.

Tossing & Turning

Evan has is moving more and more every day. Often times after a good night of sleeping we find him in some uncomfortable looking positions.

Lets just say that is one thing he gets from his mom.

Thought for the day

"You cannot force spiritual things. Such words as compel, coerce, constrain, pressure, demand do not describe our privileges with the Spirit.
You can no more force the Spirit to respond than you can force a bean to sprout, or an egg to hatch before its time. You can create a climate to foster growth; you can nourish, and protect; but you cannot force or compel: You must await the growth.
Do not be impatient to gain great spiritual knowledge. Let it grow, help it grow; but do not force it, or you will open the way to be misled. …
… Should we stand in need of revealed instruction to alter our course, it will be waiting along the way as we arrive at the point of need. "
(In Perfect Balance, p. 252-3, Pres. Boyd K Packer)

I really like this and thought it applied to much more than spiritual growth (i.e. relationships, raising children, general learning etc).
