Rainy Day

This is Steve standing on the street in front of our house up to mid-calf in water. The water had risen up over the curb all the way to the sidewalk.

And yes, this is a small river flowing between our neighbor's house and ours. It came from the pond that formed in our backyard. Sadly, much of the planters we worked on last Saturday washed away in this river.

Funny Story

Today I was out working in the yard. Evan was sleeping and I had the monitor with me so I'd know when he woke up. I hadn't seen any activity on the monitor so after a few hours I came in. I heard someone knocking on the door so I went to the front door to see who was here, but there was no one. Then I realized it was Evan knocking on his bedroom door! He had climbed out of his crib and it looks like he'd been playing in his room for a while. Luckily I think we can still lower his crib one more setting (I hope). Ahhh, I don't think I am ready for him to have free rain.

Easter Fun

We had a great Easter weekend. It started off with a date night at the temple, thanks to our great friends being willing to watch Evan for us. Saturday we worked on finishing up a planter in our backyard and then went to see a friend get baptised into the church. A much anticipated moment and we are very excited for him and his family. Then we spent Easter with family and friends eating, one of the things we do best, topped off with a big Easter egg hunt. It was lots of fun. It was a wonderful weekend filled with opportunities to reflect on our Savior and the blessing of his life and gospel. I don't think we could have had a better Easter.

Favorite Time of Year

This is definitely my favorite time of year in TX. It's warm enough to be outside playing and enjoying all the flowers blooming; but not too warm that all the mosquitoes are out and your clothes are sticking to you. Here are a few ways we've been enjoying the outdoors lately:
Playing in the Bluebonnets

Relaxin' in the hammock

Camping
Hanging with the ladies in my hot ride. (Paige Crosby & Rachel Oldham)

Going for horse and camel rides with my awesome Auntie Kathryn

Playing in the yard with dad

Taking a few rocket trips

Napping on the way home from a walk to the park

P.S. Thanks Grandma and Auntie K for coming to help after my gallbladder surgery and making so many of these pictures possible.

"Monkey, where are you?"

This weekend Steve taught Evan to say this while they were looking for his stuffed monkey. Now Evan walks around the house from time to time saying "Monhey, wher ar ow?" It's hilarious.

Then when he finds him he gives him big hugs

and kisses
