Evan turns 4

Evan turned 4 this November. We decided this year we would stay home for Thanksgiving so it was the first year we were able to have a little party for him here with his friends. He requested a "Wipeout" party as watching "Wipeout" the show with his dad is one of his favorite things to do. So dad and Hepa (Grandpa Moser) set to work creating a "wipeout" obstacle course at a local park. The kids had a great time, especially Evan. Until he himself wipedout on the balance beam. He was the only casualty of the game, receiving a good scratch from a large screw all the way down his side. Cake and presents were barely able to cheer him up but once he got back to the playground he eventually came around.

Evan requested pumpkin/sunshine cupcakes.  I have no idea where he came up with that combo but we were able to put something together. And his personal dietitian I was quite proud he requested pumpkin in his cupcakes. His dad, however was pretty dismayed.

Kaitlyn had a great time keeping up.

Thanksgiving 2011

This year I hosted Thanksgiving for the first time. Luckily I had lots of help, between calls to my mom beforehand and then having Jane (my mother-in-law) here to help. I even stuck my hands under the skin of the turkey to add some yummy spices for flavor. That was a new experience. It all turned out pretty well and we enjoyed ourselves.

We have so much to be thankful for. In a recent church publication, the "Ensign" (http://lds.org/liahona/2011/12/the-choice-to-be-grateful?lang=eng)  there is a gratitude challenge.
Here are a few things I am grateful for that I've been thinking about lately:

  • The wonderful family Steve and I are creating; our kids bring more joy than I could have ever imagined
  • Wonderful parents who raised us and extended family, each of whom have contributed so much to who we are
  • The Gospel- such a wonderful blessing to have Christ in our lives guiding us each day
  • Friends- they really do make a world of difference, especially living away from our families
  • Health- we really are blessed and I realize it more every time we have a minor illness in the house
  • Steve's education and thus job- we really are well provided for and are grateful to have it in this economy
  • My education- I use it every day and am so blessed I was able to receive such a good one
  • A wonderful house we've been able to make our home
  • A change of seasons- summer in Houston can get pretty long
  • Amazing opportunities between travel, church callings and day to day events- there really is so much to experience that helps you grow
  • Wonderful memories of family and friends
  • Internet that allows me to easily keep in contact with family and friends

Anyway, these are a few things I am grateful for.

Baby Boy On The Way

We are excited we will be welcoming a new little boy into our family in March. Yeah for boys! Evan has been certain it was a boy since he learned I was pregnant. He even has decided his name should be Carson Grayson Moser (he is still working to convince us that it the right name). We didn't get a very good profile shot of the little guy at our ultrasound because he was all snuggled up in a little ball. So here is a picture of me at 21 weeks. We can't wait to really see the little guy in March.

Kaitlyn's latest

Kaitlyn loves dressing up and trying on whatever articles of clothing she can find.

I thought having a girl might mean cleaner eating . . . boy was I wrong.

She likes electronics. Here she is working hard with her mouse.

Here is a picture on a day daddy got her ready. He even did the hair which I thought was pretty good. Especially if you had seen his first attempts a month or so ago.

Evan and Kaitlyn are starting to play together a little better. It is so fun to see. Evan is getting much better at sharing and being helpful to his sister. I love my kids.

Swimming fun

The last week at the pool Evan started jumping from the diving board. At our pools parents are not allowed to be in the water below to help them swim to the side so he had to do it all himself and did very well. He even loved it despite slipping and falling off the board onto cement on one of his walks down the board. It only kept him away for about 5 minutes. He also went off the high dive, shown behind him in the picture above. I didn't have my camera for that.

Kaitlyn really started to enjoy the pool as well. We put her down the frog slide which she thought was the greatest. It was so fun to see and she was quite insistent that we keep doing it.

Sweet Land of Liberty

In early July we embarked on a great family trip. We started off in Boise, ID with Auntie K and Uncle Anthony. The rest of the Demary clan joined us for a trip up to Yellow Stone. It was phenomenal. What better way to spend the 4th of July, celebrating our country, then to be drive through the amazing sights it has to offer.

Then we continued on to Glacier National Park to meet Shaliece and her kids. We continued with them up to Calgary. It was such a fun trip. We even enjoyed most of the 2,000 mile road trip. Road trips in a rental car sure are a nice way to go. : )

Best buds reunited. They sure had a blast.

This is about the same tortured expression we got from Evan when we told him we had to leave Canada to head home.
