Wonderful Surprise

For our 7th anniversary Steve surprised me by flying myself and the kids back east with him. We played with grandma and grandpa while Steve went to business meetings and then Steve and I spent our anniversary weekend in Boston. It was our first time back on our anniversary. It was fabulous having a kid free weekend; thanks grandma, grandpa & Aunt Shauna! Here are a few pictures of our adventure.

The beach - oh how I love you! The kids thoroughly enjoyed it too.

Grandma brought us to a really cool castle. Who knew we even had castles in New England; leave it to my mom to discover it

.

Shopping the outlets in the rain.

Biking the rail trail in the sun

Dr. Seuss is a favorite of Evan's so we went to see some of the characters. We also got some strawberry picking in.

Weekend in Boston where we enjoyed a trip to the temple where we were sealed, the Blue Man Group and the Melting Pot.

7 years may have worn on us a bit but we still are just as in love if not more.

(Above pictures are from a 10k mud run we recently did. Sadly these are the most recent pictures I have of the two of us together. I'll have to work on that.)

Kaitlyn turns 1

It's hard for me to believe Kaitlyn is one. Where did the first year go? She is on the petite side so it's easy for me to forget how old she is getting.

She adores her brother and usually the feeling is mutual. Evan gets so excited to do things for her. Here he is singing to her.

With in the last two weeks her personality has really developed. She loves giving hugs with little pats on the back. It is so cute. She also has taken a great interest in stuffed animals.

We finally found a stuffed bear she will fall asleep with making bedtime much easier. She was given her first doll for her birthday which she loves. Here is a clip of her opening her gifts and giving them loves.

She is so close to walking and loves to try. I'll turn around and she is bracing herself as she lets go of the furniture she was holding onto. She gets so proud of herself when she can stay standing for a bit or take a step. We love her to pieces and can't wait to see what the next year brings.
